Well the evening came and passed, a very good time was had. The kicker, the pictures are out of focus...with a digital camera no less.

Just an update, my son and I have completed our highland dress for the Robbie Burns next sat. Margaret from Burnetts and Struth has measured us and fitted us and we are very pleased with the quality....

I was recently told that a silver quaichs are toxic when used with alcohol (scotch etc..)
I was planing to get one for my wife as an anniversary gift 40+ yrs
I don't want to make her sick or worse.

The pin at the end of the sgian dubh is sterling silver not a screw cap. The tang is very much like the sgian brew. I have yet to decide the shape and style of the handle for the sgian brew.

The cross is about 12" tall, I made a few, one for my son and my daughter-in-law, and another for the reverend who officiated.
