I move my opinion of "traditional" further than Panache. Of the two pictures that he posted neither look is what I consider traditional. To me both are modern looks, Woodsheal is definately modern...

Could be that the kilt is Pakistani made and no doubt the material was also woven there. Probably not the best quality control in any of the processes. that being said, of all the kilts I've seen...

Alan since you're rebuilding you kilt anyway could I suggest MOLLE on the front (at least) for sporran attachment. I don't backpack but my RKilts paintball kilt utilizes it. Witha sporran firmly...

It's probably Marton Mills black on black tartan. I have a Stillwater version (my first kilt) and it's really effective in the light. Yes, John does excellent work he made my 8yd Official Ontario.

More smokers should a pipe. As a cigarette smoker I'm just drawn to them by the aroma (probably because my dad was a pipe smoker when I was small. I just couldn't carry off the look of a pipe smoker.
