I made a box pleated kilt following Barb and Matt's directions and was really pleased with how the internal strap and buckle worked out.
I think if I ever commit to a knife pleated kilt, I'll use...

Splendid!
If I ever have the chance to attend a white tie event, my plan is a very similar outfit to what you're wearing here.

I have no experience with Pakistani horsehair sporrans but I do have a vintage horsehair sporran I found for $75.
I'd say some patience and searching would probably give you a much better sporran...

It is for sure; however, with one exception, all my kilt jackets are vintage and purchased for quite reasonable prices. Takes some patience but definitely worth it when you find a great piece.

While the Lovat blue will certainly pair well with your kilt, for what it's worth, the ancient colourway works well with moss or Lovat green as well.

I love the entire project but the waistcoat is the cherry on top; I think that'll be a wonderful option to have!

Frank,
Checked mine to see if it was any help to you but mine is sewn down all the way around. Looks like you've gotten everything you need here but just in case it's of use, you can have a look...

Barb,
So I had a look when I got home and here's what I noticed from the outside of the kilt.
Here, there is stitching right at the bottom of the fell:

Thanks for weighing in Barb, I'll try to get some pictures when I get home.
However, I'll try to explain why I believe there was steeking and that it has failed in at least one place. In most...

Thanks Steve!
When I got the kilt, I did the stretch test, which saw very little stretch and stood up the fell, which it did but not well. Based on that, and how the fabric felt, I assumed that...

Good day all,
I have a polyviscose kilt that appears to follow most of the conventions of TAoK (with machine stitched pleats and the shape of the apron being notable exceptions). It fits, hangs...

Back to an old favourite this evening; recently finished a Laphroaig 10 and had to get a new Islay to replace it. Opened up a new Bowmore 12 (which was my first ever peated dram) and was quickly...

Having spent too much over the holidays (and really, probably having too much tweed in my closet anyway) has not prevented me from searching for kilt jackets. Not going to bid on these but thought...

Happy St. Andrew's Day to you as well!
Used it as a good excuse to do some kilted pre-Christmas cleaning.
