Personally, I would pleat it to the stripe with the green stripe on center. I found that it's easier to measure your pleating if you are always measuring the same distance from so-and-so stripe. ...

What I ended up with was perfectly satisfactory, i.e. the slash and stitch works fine. I think I would wish to stay with teh traditional approach. I was just considering a way to make it a bit more...

The part of the kilt that I was least satisfied with was the buttonhole. I feel it would work well to sew a buttonhole with a machine onto the lining fabric, cut it and then stitch it by hand to the...

Yes, the hidden pleat is before the first pleat. My mistake. It's actually deeper than the first pleat. The hidden pleat seems to pucker a bit at the bottom of the fell. I'm on step 5 and 6 on...

I know I need 2, 1 1/2" buckles for my kilt. I am having a saddle maker that lives next door make straps for me. How long should these straps be? How far apart would you put the holes? See page...

I am in the process of basting and tailor stitching the inverted pleat to the underapron and the last pleat to the apron. I put in a hidden pleat to allow for alteration later. The hidden pleat...

I am doing my pleat basting and am wndering how the inverted pleat is supposed to fold as it goes from the bottom to the top of the kilt. Do I need to stretch and skew to match the stripes or is...
