I just came from Halifax where they have many bars with many scotches... tried Laphroaig, a Glenlivit 18 and Oban 14... allexcellent, the Glenlivet especially good... Oban, quite nice, light...

I have not once touched a set of pipes. I have been however been playing celtic whistles for some time (I know to use they are similar)

I do suspect this is the case as well. I have a feeling when it's in their control they are pretty good. personally, I am waiting on Lochcarron to weave the tartan i suspect, so it could be awhile.
