Would a heavyweight tartan in coarse finish be a good option? Just asking because I would prefer heavyweight.
When you have enough clients to make sure the tartan will be affordable, please...

I bought the fabric for my Erskine jacket from Steve McVeigh, he used to sell wonderful top quality items.
Any idea where in Scotland I can find the Erskine tartan in military weight? I will visit...

Sure! I would love to purchase tartan fabric which has the same quality and feel as the tartan fabric of the Jacobite era. Two questions. Where to find? Who can afford it? And I think I can"t afford...

Saw it on eBay too. In my opinion, it looks like Victorian era. That"s why I didn"t place my bid. I"m after mid 18th century pieces. But it"s a nice find.

Hiyas - I own two lengths of tartan fabric (2 x 8 yrd, 16 oz heavyweight), it is the Macnaughton Tartan. I only need one length of course. Is anyone interested in a countertrade?

Yes I agree, Sir.
I also think Grey is a good choice. By the way, in my variant the overstripes are only two threads wide.
