"Am I lion? I don't think of myself as a lion. You might as well though. I have a mighty roar."
That, or
"And if wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak!"

I'm definitely interested, though there's no way to know at this point if I could make it. Will keep an eye out for details.

I like it. I'm not 100% sure I would buy* it, but if I owned it I would certainly wear it.
The saltire imagery didn't click with me until it was mentioned. It might click more quickly if...

Didn't realize that. May have to pick up some Woodford this months then.

ha! Love it. I enjoy those kinds of situations a bit more than I should.
One my dad used to use was "I'm more human than you, and I'm only ¼ human" because his grandmother's last name was "Human"

Pearce Lyons' Lyons Reserve single malt (from the folks who do Town Branch bourbon in Lexington). Not a bad dram, especially considering it doesn't cost much more than Famous Grouse.

Tonight was Laphroaig 10. Definitely enjoyed it.

Not scotch, but I made a few stops on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail today and expanded my horizons a bit

One method to ease the jones is to order accessories while you wait! They don't have to be expensive accessories either. A kilt pin from one place... pair of solid-color hose from another... sporran...

Yeah, as rat said, around the widest part of the hips/bum is where the bottom of the fell should land.
I wear a 26.5" overall length kilt and my fell is 10", a bit more than the 1/3 approximation....

Noting all this for later. Thank you for the recommendations! Basically to this point I've been going with names I remember having heard at least a couple times before... I'll keep these in mind in...

This thread explains the new features, if you're looking for an explanation.
If what you mean is "why bother with that info being displayed with each username?" well then I dunno. Doesn't seem...

...but bluegrass usually has four beats to count.
Anywho, I've just started this whole foray into Scotch. Currently have a bottle of Famous Grouse and a Glenlivet 12 year. Definitely...

Loving this thread! It's making me consider the journey next time!
Keep up the good work guys, they're looking great.

It makes no difference in the end-product. Well, negligible difference - that being whether or not there's a line of stitching in the pleats that pieces the two lengths together (which you'd find if...

No problem with being of Welsh descent. No one here will care what your heritage is, where you live, what language you speak, or anything related. Anyone can wear and enjoy the kilt.

I had that happen once - my front wheel took off on its own without the rest of the car. Not a fun experience, but I'm glad to hear you came out of it without huge issues

I've seen beeswax available in-store at JoAnn's and Hancock's, and I want to say Michael's crafts, though I don't remember for certain.

Yep, after this post:
I vote we kill the thread and move on.

Perhaps a rental would be up your alley for these occasions?

I don't believe Steve was literally saying a kilt is not a skirt.
A kilt is not a skirt in the same way a bratwurst is not a hot dog. Sure, they're functionally the same, but there's a lot more...

I've just noticed that the tartan element centered on the apron of the kilts is one of the thick pink strips, which throws the entire apron off-center to the eye. Just one more element to make them...
