I dont have much to add to the current discussion, other than to mention the fact that I once smuggled a heavy, stoutly built folding german military shovel into a primitive rendezvous, using the...

While not being specifically Scottish, I see this pouch being made very appropriate with a small amount of modification....

I'm not terribly sad to say that I won't make it there this year because I will be in Rio De Janeiro.
I do however wish that the timing of my trip didn't interfere with the goings on this summer....

Hmm I thought I already posted this, but here goes.
I wasn't able to find any comparable material amongst my supplies, so I went to Joann's fabric and got a few yards of this stuff for around 80...

Ahhh....thanks for the pic, and the description. I will look for anything like this among my supplies.
Is the tape similar in weight and feel to standard denim perhaps?
Even with thicker weight...

Err, yeah I know....
I am reluctant because my proper 18th century weskit and muslin shirts are with my aunt being combined with other fabric and re-purposed into much improved Highland attire.

I've made about 15-20 powder horns, and am quite familiar with the smell :-)
For flat powder horns I've had better luck dunking the horn in hot veg. oil for a few seconds and then pressing between 2...

I have enough irritations and negativity in my every day life. Why let that get carried over to a forum where I go to read and write about stuff that I *enjoy* with like-minded people? ?
It became...

Well....my first thought is an Emerald green background with gold and blue stripes...just like the colors of the Brasil Flag.
I'm picturing something that looks quite similar to the Irish National...
