I find the wooden comb helpful. The teeth are further apart and there's no issues with static electricity.

Use a beard oil, brush a couple of times a day with a wooden comb, trim regularly with a good pair of clippers to keep it tidy/ avoid split ends, shampoo or wash with beard soap.
