Airplane is the only real limitation. Buses, stateroom and hotels don't care. We hate the crowding and luggage limitations of airplanes, so if we must fly, we pay the extra for first class. More...

Where he recognized my dandelion and introduced himself. Hi FossilHunter! :toast:
Missed Costa Mesa this year though.

Kyle,
I was merely offering my opinion. While I thought I was making a general observation, not knowing you frequented XMarks, I am pleased to be able to respond on a more personal level.

Okay, so I'm not a fashionista.
They both look like models being paid to wear those outfits on a runway. They look awful.

I went to the wedding of Tomak's son to his longtime sweetheart yesterday. Although Tomak and his son are both kilt wearers the decision went against a kilted wedding - outfitting the rest of the...

Generically, 5 yd kilts have less swish but are in every other way comparable to an 8 yd kilt. They are, after all, the same thing just with less fabric.
That said, I personally prefer my 8...

Steve just said it all, certainly nothing I can add other than "best wishes".

I'm sure we're giving Rocky and his crew swelled heads, but USAKilts is the only place I recommend to people getting their first kilt and who aren't sure how to get high quality at a proper price. ...

Can't make it this time, conflicts with an event on another "old ship", the Queen Mary! But thanks for the invite.

Heading over there in an hour... :D

Not that I'm in Bonnie's league, so my agreeing with her is kind of a rubber stamp, but that selvedge does not look consistent with the rest of the fabric. Best to hem it. :?
-
For ease of making you can't beat using the selvedge. But fabric weight and aesthetics must be considered.
I would need to see and feel the fabric before I would be willing to make a...

Barb, another thanks for TAOK. I just finished my second kilt and definitely still need to reference the book constantly.
I was lucky to have Elsie instructing my first class. Would love to do...

I didn't either. AcuteEnigma, do you know of somewhere to do Scottish Country Dancing in Orange County/San Diego areas?
-
GGGP, are you offering to clean the fur off the kilts afterward?
My kilt looks like a different tartan after I visit my in-laws. All kinds of new brown and white threads that weren't in the...

Scott, that is an outfit to be proud of! Outstanding.
I only ever wanted one Artificer sporran, but now that I have R'lyeh sett tartan I really want a ray skin sporran, too. Sigh, does it never...

Okay, this isn't really a question. Just playing off an earlier thread.
I just ordered my first semi-trad from Rocky and crew. It's been five minutes and it isn't here yet. Maybe I should have...

Pictures aren't really enough for me to recognize anyone in person, anyway. :D
I knew Alan H. was into heavy athletics and had seen his picture. But I didn't realize how tall he is. Really...

Okay, sorry Barb, but I just had to laugh (in a painful way). 20-30 hours? You professionals are soooo funny.
Elsie's class was 40 hours, plus evenings spent pleating until midnight. I almost...

Artificer, won't the one with tentacles have to be made from aged copper (nicely corroded) instead of brass? Made from the remnants of something brought up from a shipwreck from the cold depths? ...

Sounds great, I'll be ther... oh, wait a minute, I'm in San Diego.
Think I'll pass this time. A lot easier just to drive out to Page.

Matt, thanks for that info. I had no idea what to look for that would make one edge different. Now I'll have to see if I can actually find those.
Scott, This is the most color-correct (a...
