I much prefer this tartan to the usual Royal Stewart, especially when it's woven in the darker red. I did have a kilt in this tartan once and will do so again one day

Sorry I missed you TPA. I saw you at a distance but you were walking away from me:cry: It was certainly a great day out and I managed to miss the storm as I retired to the bar when I saw the big...

I remember seeing a TV documentary about a fishing community from an island in New England where they all spoke with a broad Norfolk (UK) accent. To give an example "Hey ye gotta loit boy" (Have you...

The Elisabeth (Elizabeth?) Countess of Home I refer to lived in the 1850's and her Father, the last Lord Douglas, died in 1856, (I think). I'll need to dust off my old clan history books and check it...

I thought the Earl of Home, presently David Douglas-Home, had precedence over the Douglas-Hamilton line, as Elisabeth Countess of Home was the elder sister at the time of the death of the last Lord...

I've just signed the petition. To a traditional Scottish kilt wearer the sgian dhu is an integral component of 'Highland dress'. It has an historical significance, as the Highlander was allowed to...

Yes great pic John. Thanks Simon, I had a great time and my back held out until mid-afternoon (I'd been there since early morning) and I've suffered a bit today but it was worth it. I wore my replica...
