I am planning on registering for your course. I have Scottish Wildcat tartan, and would like to know what thread and other items I would need to bring.

I am hoping to attend as I have some Scottish Wildcat tartan that I want to make into a kilt. I want to attend Barb's class.

Sep 6-9 in Estes Park, Co. Who's going? I'm going on the Saturday. I've lived in Colorado 18 years and this is my first time going. I can't wait.
-
Thanks for the advice Barb. I am hoping to attend Kilt Kamp next year. I got in on the newest weaving of Scottish Wildcat, which I might save for KK, if I do get in.

Patrick, I am speaking of the fact that a lot of people wear all manners of footwear with their kilts. Sandals, combat boots, sneakers and a lot of costume boots are all commonly worn with kilts...
-
Those are all some fine looking kilts. Good job all.

Was just at the zcolorado Scottish Festival, and a lot of people were them. As far as "tradition" goes, most people don't care, and if they do so what. A good percent of people who wear the kilt...

Mine is a Maron Mills PC, and I find the fringed selvedge not to my liking. I am going to put in a hem. Ideally, I not what I want, but I don't really think it will be anything someone would even...

That towel method sounds like a good idea. So, I came up with a 47.5 in hip with the towel method (I think it looked about right, according to my girlfriend). So, I have 42 w 21 split apron 21.5...

I am making a PV kilt and it came with a fringed selvedge. What do I do about it? How do I make the bottom of the kilt look nice?
-
Figuring out a good split is giving me a headache. It seem that a waist to hip difference of only 3 inches doesn't give me much room to play with. With a 42w and 45 hip, I think a w split of...

I have been waiting for this book for a week or two now. Do we have release date yet? I can't remember if I saw a date.

As pv doesn't mould very well, I was just thinking the less you had to do, the better. I have never made a kilt before, so I was guessing. In my research, I have not found good instructions on making...
-
If pv does not shape as well, would it be more advisable to keep the split closer to 1/2?
-
Just curious, are all the tartan at this year's OK wool, or are some PV? I have some PV coming to make my first kilt, and am in on the newest weaving of wool Scottish Wildcat tartan. I am excited to...
-
I have ordered and will be receiving 4 yards of double width PV Friday. I have a copy of TAoK, and was wondering if there is anything different that I need to do with PV than wool. You say to tear...

I kind of want to get some type of Buchanan tartan, as I am a descendant of the Bohanans. I am not partial to yellow thow. The Patriot Tyne, really appeals to me, so it very well be my 3rd tartan.
-
Is the person with the Patriot Tyne shy? I am waiting to see tartan in all it's glory. Hopefully they will show the completed kilt.
-
When I am feeling rich again (I recently purchased wool Scottish Wildcat and poly/viscose Cladish) I may seriously consider getting some Patriot Tyne. So what is the weight on that, pictured above,...
-
That is a very nice tartan. I had ancestors on both sides in the Civil War and would not mind wearing that.

What I is the tartan on the bottom left?
