It is still chilly willy here on the high plateau of northeast Arizona (elev. 5600ft) but I found out that my kilt wearing need not be confined to warmer months. Today it was in the 30s and 40s and I...

Wow, that is a long time wearing kilts! I only discovered kilts, mainly utility types about 6 years ago. Going from pants to kilts was like going from driving a car to flying a jet. Unbifurcated...

This is the first I saw your post. Nice pics; did you hike from the rim to the river? That is a bear of a hike; hard on the knees. I did it part way years ago. The following Monday was so sore I...

Sorry for the very late reply. I cannot imagine anyone abusing such a cute little dog like yours. Glad you rescued the little guy. Little dogs like yours tend to be face-lickers with lightning fast...

These are great photos. And nothing can match a kilt for hiking or rock hunting. We have the same kind of sunflowers here where I live. In fact we have a bunch in our yard.

I think the spikey flower is actually a seed cluster after the flower bloomed, similar to how dandelions work. Each white spikey has a black seed rod that pokes down to a head below.

My friend John and I recently hiked the Algonquin trail in the Bradshaw mountains near Prescott, AZ. It started out as a rock hunting trip, but quickly became a wildflower photo trip as the photos...

I have a couple UT Kilts ripstop type kilts and they are really great for warm weather; very light and drop nicely between your legs whilst you sit. They are a little more vulnerable to the wind. But...

Looks like I will be going on Saturday; gonna wear my UT Kilts Black Watch utility kilt. Nothing fancy, but kilted, nonetheless. Spent all of yesterday (Friday) at the mall, Lee Lees and Costco...

It has been really warm here for this time of the year, the middle 60's and even approaching 70 today. Broke out my UT Kilts Black Watch utility kilt and went on walks with my wife Elsa. One lady...

My friend that I was with whilst rock hunting told me about the railroad switchbacks and how they would back up and go forward to get up the mountain. If you like mica, that hiking trail is a...

Thanks, Dughlas.... We found tourmalines, but they were needle thin and black. Not exactly facet grade material. I think gem tourmalines are unknown in Arizona. However, there IS gem aquamarine in...

The summer is almost over and it has been a lot of fun wearing my UT Kilt out and about to the mall, grocery stores, gun shows, on walks with my wife, and rock hunting / hiking. Nearly all comments I...

Been going all kinds of places in my utility kilt, from Wal Mart to the men's Bible study at our church fellowship and also going on walks with my wife. One lady pulled her truck over, got out and...

Several months ago I bought an olive utility kilt from Amerikilts, put it on and paused in my garage, working up the courage to go out in my front yard to do some weeding. I kicked myself in the...

The Tucson gem show is HUGE. It covers multiple areas of the city, many motels with a different theme and vendor in each room and between the rooms. It would take a week to do it justice.
I like...
