If the inside is cardboard I would recommend avoiding rain. I ruined a few such bonnets during my time in uniform before acquiring one from Mackie.
Oh, and to the consternation of my Regimental...

Just returned from two days at the 70th edition of the Glengarry Highland Games. 1,400 musicians on the field for the massed bands event but I noticed other musicians watching so the total number of...

This outfit looks put together and it also looks good on you. Some great additions to your wardrobe. From these basic pieces you can do a lot.

I believe L&M Highland Outfitters are also in Dartmouth, just across the bridge.

Again, they got the Grand Lodge name wrong, but the symbolism in the tartan is explained.

Just next to Heathrow and a great place to spend a few hours. A fine pub and possibly a place to get your head down in a day-room.

The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa wear that tartan or a variation of it. I think they get their kilts made in Nova Scotia by MacIsaacs. The tartan appears to be of a fairly heavy weight.
You...

My first action would be to open the wardrobe and see what is inside. You'll likely have most of the ingredients. Add perhaps a crisp new shirt and you should be fine. If you do decide to buy...

There once was a man in a kilt
Who said, I'm sure this is built
To show off my knees
But sometimes in the breeze
It shows a bit more with its tilt...

This was probably sold by Penny's of Thunder Bay, a Canadian re-seller.

This is because, during the age of sail, sailors often had tar-stained hands. During the salute, the palm was therefore canted slightly to hide any traces of tar from being seen by the senior...
