Well, it looks like there will be only one kilt making demo activity, so I'll come find you, Tartan Tess!

I'm thinking of going to this, but never have before. Anyone have advice, insider secrets, or otherwise planning to go and want to meet up to say, "Cheers?"

I've been reading about using lanolin for wool. I have some wool pants I want to wear skiing, and any water wicking would be beneficial.
I'd imagine the treatment would be the same for any wool...

My sister was a vendor at the Bonnie Brae Scottish games, and was notified via an e-mail that the games are going to be discontinued.
I spoke to an employee at the school and they had not been...

It rained on our wedding day 16 years ago and with the piper playing and the umbrellas, it couldn't have been more Scottish feeling in Maine.
I wouldn't trade it for a sunny day now that we have...

I was going to say, "Try Ardbeg." (To experience the truely peaty). That's where I started with Scotch and everything since seems so smooth. Also, you can add some water and still be considered a...

This might be the first example of on this site of when NOT to wear a kilt.
Will leave the comments about "going regimental" to others.

Damn. I look GOOD! Step Two: learn to play the snare drum.
Thank you Bonnie Heather Green!

I was at the Bonnie Brae Scottish Festival and Highland Games today and I pulled away from my family because I wanted to go visit "my kilt maker."
I got to model my kilt for Bonnie Heather Greene...

Dummy Sgian Dubh? Who knew it had a use? I was just buying time till my son was old enough for a real one. Turns out there's a need for them sometime.

Well you SHOULD check out that movie because it's great, but {spoiler alert} Robert Redford plays Butch Cassidy without a brogue.
I don't remember if Pinkerton has the accent. We'll have to start...

I'll file this under "Only in America." It's a big file. Any story with an Elvis Impersonator is golden, and I have a friend with one such story.
I need to travel more towards the Elvis belt of...

I completely agree, Bonnie Heather Greene (your name always seems like the name of a garden.) I was wearing a kilt that you made when I was there.
The jugglers were there today as well, and they...

Thanks for asking, Border Reiver, but we just took a ferry over to Ellis from the New Jersey side for a few hours to see our band play. (We didn't suit up and play due to all the security clearance...

I was at Ellis Island today for what was ostensibly the opening event for Tartan Week. It was a pretty subtle "Opening Event."
The Clan Currie sponsored exhibit, "Scots in the American West,"...

Yes, or should I say, "aye?" I will be stealing many of the comebacks on this thread. Although, I'm not sure they're all in the spirit of "Tryin' not to fight."
But then, that's when a long stare...

It was actually pretty funny because there I was with my son and we both had on kilts and he quietly asked, "Daddy, why are they all wearing aprons?"
I had to tell him I had no idea. (We later got...

AND, the gathering place was a masonic temple, so all of them had APRONS on over a suit!

Last weekend as I was arriving at the gathering area for a St. Patrick's Day parade, a police officer who stopped traffic for my son and I to cross the street said, "nice skirt."
I don't know what...
