    Anniversary gift ideas

    Hello rabble,

My wonderful redhead and I are going to be celebrating our 12th anniversary this year and it falls right on the highland games. She has became interested in her family heritage and we found that two of her 2nd great grandfathers came over to the US from Scotland one a Montgomery the other a Shaw. I am looking for ideas that would tie into her respected heritage and she could enjoy at the games that day.

Give her a fold up chair with a strip of tartan as the bow. If you go to any tournaments, sitting through some of the events will make the events equally as exciting and more bearable than standing all day. You could also get a throw or shawl to sit on.

silk and linen are traditional for the 12 anniversary

A shawl could be very nice and be something worn relatively often.

Something in tartan would seem to me to be just the thing. You could always wait until the games and check the vendors for something she would like.

Also check the festival website before you go to see what clans will be in the clan village - Montgomery might be hard to come by but Shaw is pretty common. A visit to her clan tent should get her a good start on her heritage.

And congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.
