Hi all, I'm Tyler. I've been lurking on the forums for a bit now, and thought it would be good to finally register. I'm stationed up here in the great Pacific Northwest.

While I am not Scottish, I do love the kilts. It started with me taking a trip down to the Utilikilts store in Seattle, where I bought my first (and second) Kilt. I was wanting more, but they are quite the investment. So I though I would learn how to make one (I have always been a very crafty guy, and my sewing machine was collecting dust). So, I found the site, and Alan's X-Kilt instructions!

Well, I still have yet to make anything with box pleats, but I used the instructions along with a lot of thinking, hitting the drawing board, and trial and error, and knocked out one kilt. That one was a light cotton flannel one with the sole purpose of being worn to kick it around the house, which is a good thing because that is where a lot of the trial and error came into play. =P

Second one came out nicely, but I am really fond on number 3. Found some US Navy digi camo at the store, and knew I HAD to make a kilt out of it. Being that I love my Utilikilts, I figured I would make it very similar to them. And I have pics.

And a side view.

Even though I have never talked with any of you before, I would like to thank you for all the help I have gotten from reading these forums.
