I have one and call it my "pleated sweat pants." Comfy, and okay for hanging out in the yard, or for what they were designed for which is athletics. I'm beginning to question how many competitors at the Games actually wear them though. I never see SK's.

Truth be told, I haven't worn mine in a couple of months, and haven't worn it outside my yard in over a year. I wear my USAK's, SWK's, and X-Kilts about four days a week right now, and nearly daily in the summer.

When you take the cost of a few more-or-less essential options, such as having the fell stitched down so you don't look like a cheerleader, you're really only a few bucks away from a USAK casual which is made of better materials, with finer craftsmanship, has superior pleating(and more pleats) and was made to fit your backside. I'd just spend the extra $20 and have something custom made.

And a Sportkilt is not suited to wearing in anything but very casual environments. Even if that's all you plan to use it for you'll really "feel" the difference if someone is standing next to you in a USAK or SWK, even if you're both in boots and t-shirts. It's like wearing a Target or WalMart suit and some guy stands next to you in an Armani. After that you realize it looks like a WalMart suit.

    Just my $.02USD.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

My first kilt was a Sport Kilt. My mom brought a Heritage of Scotland MacDonald back from Edinburgh and there was no comparison. I have worn the Sport Kilt maybe twice in four years. I would purchase from USA Kilts, Stillwater, or even Heritage of Scotland or the Scotland Kilt company.
