Aaarrrrggghh! The anticipation!
Paid for, and had this handsome kit shipped from the UK last Friday 
It was expected to be delivered yesterday or today. Looks like I'm waiting 'till next week.

Watching the mailbox from the front window does not make the postman deliver faster. I feel your anguish. Good looking kit though.

Tartan expected in eight days....while not as weighty as waiting on an entire outfit...I certainly sympathize.

Bummer for the wait.
Is that the Scotland 2000 tartan? (Not sure of the name, it's a red and blue tartan.)
Nice kit there!
BTW I myself would probably wear a plain (or relatively plain) brass buckle with a tweed outfit like that.
This is what I have. I've had that buckle since the 1970s and I recently made up that belt for it. It's sort of rustic hammered brass.

Richard, I believe the tartan you are talking about is called millenium, or some phrase with that word in it. But no, this is actually the Lindsay tartan, which is really the reason why I bought the whole kit. It was made in the 1950's or early 60's. The color shades are really bright and Ive only seen one other in a simmlar hue, and it was of the same era.
I'm pretty excited about all the other pieces too. This will be my first actual traditional day jacket and bonnet. I have a saxon tweed I altered to fit the kilt, but used my own designs that vary from traditional. And I've always been a black leathers and silver metals guy, so it'll be nice to try brown and brass for some variation. I feel really lucky that everything in this kit is described to match my measurements.
I really like that buckle Richard, I've been wanting something similar in silver or steel for a while. Simple and classy. And a nice looking belt too! Did you make the sporran?

I was wrong, it's called Scottish 2000 commemorative.  If this is indeed the tartan you were referring to.
