I’ve also gone to wearing no kilt pin. I had a grouse foot when I was younger. It would catch on things all the time. I purchased a very nice antique pin no too long ago that will likely make its way onto my kilt. I’m rather fond of it.

Here's an antique pin I've had for some time that complements my clan crest, though it's not. I might consider it as a kilt pin for rare occasions.

Very nice. Mine is pretty much the same as this one.

it’s very simple and I was lucky to find it on eBay for 40 pounds. It’s about 100 years old though t looks like it hasn’t been worn.

We have a friend who is a very talented glass artist using mostly dichroic glass. He made this for me as a lapel pin a few years ago, but for now I’ve repurposed it onto my kilt. It’s quite informal and not traditional in any sense and certainly won’t appeal to everyone (or, probably, even to most), but I like it and it will do for now. I have more traditional pins if need be.

Nothing wrong with that; there are few rules for kilt pins other than not giving offence. I rather like it too, untraditional as it is.

I've got a couple kilt pins, a sterling blanket pin that was a gift decades ago, and my favorite below. It was my Nan's, I remember her wearing it on her winter coat. Now it hangs out on my kilt when I feel like wearing a kilt pin.

I was digging through an old box the other day and found this collar device/badge from my alma mater, Texas A&M University. I thought to myself, "hmm, that would make a pretty cool kilt pin or sporran badge after a little polishing."

You have to wear a collar in College down in Texas?
Those ancient U Nialls from Donegal were a randy bunch.

If you're in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, absolutely! This is part of the uniform insignia.
