Glenmore hose
Why doesn't House of Cheviot offer the Glenmore or Glencoe socks on their website? The only place I can find them readily available is Amazon.

They might be discontinued, and Amazon is just selling previous stock.

The Amazon hose are sold by Matt Newsome....you should email him. I recently needed a House of Cheviot item that wasn't listed and he was able to arrange it.

These Glencoe oatmeal hose came yesterday.
I added them to my Amazon order to get free shipping. They should work with anything, but especially with the Welsh National tartan cilt I'm planning on getting. This picture of Derek gave me the idea. I'm not sure if he is wearing oatmeal hose, but they look pretty close.
I'm sure Bison would also look good,
what other colors might work well with this tartan?

I imagine lovat, ancient, or other light blue would be a nice contrasting background below the colors of that tartan.

I was debating getting those in order to try out the Glencoe line. I already have Bison in the Lewis line.
I purchased some Glenmore kilt socks in Ancient Blue and I don't like them. They are tight on the calves to the point of being uncomfortable.

My pipe band recently switched from "piper's hose" in bottle green to Glencoe hose in ancient blue. With the exception of one band member who has exceptionally large calves, all find the hose comfortable and a vast improvement over the old "piper's hose". The piper's, or pipe band, hose was acrylic and the band members particularly appreciate the Glencoe hose's merino wool blend.

It's funny (not the laughing way) that you should say that, I have the same problem with my Ancient blue pair, but they are the only ones I have that are tight like that. All of the other pairs I have are very comfortable, I'll try these on and get back with you.

Ok, I checked out the oatmeal pair and they are fine, something must have gone wrong with all of the Ancient Blue ones.
