    Just another Friday.

Staff around the building happy to see that the "its Friday" reminder of the kilted fellow returned. MacDonald Ranald with a grey jumper and the DIY brown sporran. A busy, but good day.

(Reposting this in this thread, now that I know this one's current.)

I'm still a bit of a newbie to kilt wearing, but I wear my kilts as close to every day as I can get away with and wear them fairly casually, so kilting on a Friday is not unusual. Don't have any pictures, but today I wore my St. Patrick's Sport Kilt with "natural" (cream-colored) hose, St. Patrick's flashes, cream-colored grandfather shirt, black belt and sporran (brown may be more for daytime, but I have black Dr. Martens boots and would rather have them match), and kind of a black/gray checkered flat cap. Pretty normal day.

As I am kilted most days, today was a mix of GSD (Getting Stuff Done) around the house on my final day of school break. Used a nice but kinda bum-around kilt. Went on a cool walk this morning with my dog and wore a 4-yard box-pleated kilt that I actually find warmer than an 8-yard style knife-pleated kilt. Dinner with friends and wore one of my favourite kilts, an 8-yard style, 13 oz wool kilt made by Barb in the Capercaille tartan. Used the "rustic" shirt that the Celtic Croft sells along with a wool waistcoat.

I really am taking to those roomy, linen/cotton shirts that are made to resemble older styles.

I plan to return to Kilted Fridays as soon as the weather gets above 40 F on a regular basis. I have to walk between skyscrapers to get to work and it gets rather windy. That + cold air doesn't make for a fun kilted experience.

Right around 25°F/-4°C here today. Black Watch kilt with a dark blue grandfather shirt and hat, charcoal hose, red flashes, black belt/sporran/boots. Nothing particularly interesting happened today. Somebody at dinner said something about a guy in a kilt, but that was about it. Just...pretty normal.

This Friday should be the start of Kilted Fridays 2020 for me and the debut of my newly-converted Harris tweed kilt-cut jacket.

I found two Harris tweed jackets in Montreal, QC, Canada at a thrift shop for 30CAD each. One was in fine condition and I'm wearing it today to work with jeans. One had slight water damage to the wool and sever water damage to the lining but only on the bottom edge. So I took the water-damaged jacket to a tailor I trust and had him cut it down and cut the front away, matching the dimensions of a blue Argyll jacket I have. The results are amazing and I can't wait to wear it. I will take photos.

He saved all the cut-off material for me. Some of the scrap is free of damage so I'll see if I can perhaps use it to add epaulets or Braemar-style sleeve embellishments.

Nothing special today, office routine and a small meeting or two. Roach(2015) with grey jumper, dk brown hose and DIY sporran.
    Happy Friday, all.

afternoon update: a compliment and comment from a staffer encountered in the hallway of "wish I could..." might lead to another kilt wearer on Fridays.

Nothing much interesting for me today. Was only able to wear a kilt for part of the day. Loch Ness Sport Kilt (nice blue universal tartan), cream hose with red flashes, blue grandfather shirt, black sporran, belt, boots, and flat cap. I think it was about 34°F/1°C here today - didn't really bother me.

    Very proud of my son!

It's Prom Night in our little Mississippi town. My son, who has been wearing a kilt for 6 years, asked if he could wear one to Prom. He got permission from the school and, more importantly, from his his girlfriend. He got a new MacFarlane Hunting tartan kilt (we are in the Knox family on my dad's side).

This takes some big courage. We are in the deep south and some people can be a closed minded about something a little different. But when I dropped them off, they both got a lot of nice complements.
