Update, looks like he is going to donate the sgain to a local museum and post the sporran and buckle again.

Here's a pretty classic design. Appears to be in good shape. Brown day sporran with chain belt for less than 10 GBP, or about $40, shipped, to the US. I don't think the Diet Coke is included.

Yes that design is about as "classic" as it gets.

Those were made plain, as in that example, and also with tiny stamped motifs running between the two scribe lines, usually what looks like a 5-petal flower, sometimes a detailed thistle.

Here's one that flies under the radar due to not being listed as a "sporran". I think the fur is bovine or pony.

A quite plain basic sporran, about as plain and basic as they get.

The nice part is that it's stamped Nicoll Brothers Bankfoot.

7 inches wide so a fullsize adult sporran.

Two of the three tassels are missing their small leather cones. They would be simple enough to add if the matching leather could be found. (Or make three new ones in non-matching leather for a bit of an accent.)

For around $50 what appears to be a Scottish-made sporran, also an Evening Dress waistbelt.

The fur appears to be seal, hard to tell sometimes from photos. (In person seal has a glossy look that bovine and pony lack.)

For around the same price, also apparently seal, a sporran from Piper Leathercraft Scotland.

The belt-tab shows the damage that can occur when you wear a chain strap without the little D-ring adapter thing.

For a well-under-$50 buy it now, what appears to be a UK-made seal fur sporran here in the USA

I wish the photo of the cantle was clearer. If so I might tell if it's an original, perhaps by FN Birmingham, or a Sialkot re-cast (which sometimes are good).

No marks but looks decent enough. Two chains, one is a long link. Sale supports a children's Hospital. Oddly enough, Ebay Ireland has a fair bit more Highland Dress items than Ebay Canada

That's a great style, and the accessories could make this a fantastic deal for someone.

I don't think I've seen a brass long-link sporran chain before, that's super, and possibly worth more than the sporran itself.

Here's a lovely sporran, the price a bit high (around $100 with the posting) but still a bargain.

The cantle is the high-quality sort probably by Frederick Narborough, the sporran possibly by W E Scott & Son.

This cantle looks silver plated. I messaged the seller asking if it has Made In Scotland in tiny letters stamped on one side, the high quality ones usually do.

There's an outside chance it's Sterling Silver. I sent the seller photos of both the Made In Scotland stamp (silverplate) and the FN hallmark (Sterling Silver) to see if it has either.

This one, also possibly by W E Scott & Son, seal and leather
