    Visit to Perthshire

Returned from a week in Perthshire - lots of walking, and scenery as spectacular as ever.
Here I am on the old road to Killiecrankie (just north of Pitlochry).

Visited the Hermitage, with waterfalls, at Birnam.

    (Don't know why it's sideways!)

Glad to see that travelling by Scotrail still has its humorous side.

Back home to a rather miserable, damp day in the English midlands.

The Duke of Atholl is squatting on my ancestral lands but he has so far refused to negotiate the rent.
Those ancient U Nialls from Donegal were a randy bunch.

Hope you had a chance to visit the Edradour Distillery. Greatest little distillery in Perthshire.

I have been wondering if you have been up yet John. A beautiful part of Scotland as your pictures show. So alright, how many civilian kilt wearers did you see in the locality?

As I expected, very few! There were a couple of kilted individuals in the centre of Pitlochry on one day. Not dressed very formally, so seemed to be casual wear.

Yes, that sounds about what I thought it might be.

    looks great

It must be great to hike in such a beautiful place. I'm not jealous though as I'm going to Grand Teton National Park on Monday so I'll be in awesome overload for a week or so.

Watch out for Grizz (Don't you think that they should re-populate Scotland with bears? ... at least the little black ones that make awesome Busbys?)
