    1846 Dirk

    Hello to everyone.

I seem to remember a post in the past about a set of pistols that were presented as a prize at the Northern Meeting, Inverness. Someone kindly provided some very interesting background on this item.

I recently acquired a dirk that was presented to Donald Cameron in 1846 for the best preformance of strathspeys at the Northern Meeting. The dirk is dated 28th August 1846. I wondered if anyone could give me any information on the dirk or the prize winner?

I had a look in the College of Piping web site and noticed a similar dirk in the museum.

    Thanks

It is virtually impossible to make any meaningful comment without a full set of photos.
