    Inspiration

    Greetings my friends,

I went to the coffee shop today and the new girl (since May) was behind the counter, and asked me if I will stop wearing my kilt when it gets cold. Not wanting to get my barrista mad at me (they can really do a number on your coffee) I answered as politly as I could.

I explained that I was actually warmer kilted than when I wore pants and gave the mitten and glove example as to warmth factor.

She said that she was hoping I said that, and that was her way of telling me that she is going to Ireland and Scotland next spring. Because of my kilt wearing I was an inspiration to her for the trip.

All I asked of her was to take me along, her boyfriend can stay here.

    Smooth Glen, very smooth...

Nice try though, maybe the next time the kilt will win thru.

I was at the bookstore today, in 25 degree weather (Farenheit). The cashier asked me if I was cold, and I said my hand were. So she took my hand in hers to check. I should have told her my knees were cold! I also should have asked her out, but I'm always slow at that kind of thing. She was definitely flirting.

What is a barrista? I've heard of a barrister, which is a lawyer, but never a barrista. I even looked it up and couldn't find it.

"My knees are cold too", would have been priceless. It could certainly have led to an interesting situation.

I was outside during break time at work yesterday explaining to a co-worker how I was actually warmer in my kilt than in pants when a strong breeze came up and blew my UK wide open. I calmly pushed the apron back in place and said,"except when that happens".

Exactly, a fancy name to stroke the ego of minimum wage employees that serve coffee for a living.

    Hey Glen,

If we ever get a kilt-night arranged here in the Denver area, maybe we should stop in at your famous coffee shop.

at least they haven't added engineeer at the end of it yet like sanitation engineer (garbagemen), Custodial engineer (janitor), or my personal favourite transportation engineer (mechanic).
