I'll be at Doolins Irish Pub, which is the new home of Kilts Night. They are so happy to have us there, they've done a few things to make us welcome.

•All guys in kilts now get in past the line-up.
•All guys in kilts get their first beer free.
•They are advertising Kilts Night in the Celtic Connection.
•They are making Kilts Night posters.

We're feeling very much at home.

Imagine that! Your kilt could pay for itself over time.

Of course, some guys could pay off their kilts a bit faster than others.

I prefer to eat at Midday so the Chieftan o' the puddin' race has just started steaming and the neeps and tatties are prepared. All should be ready to eat in about 90 minutes from now!

Although I do not care for Whisky, I'll raise a wee dram to the Bard during my meal...... No offence but the rest of you will be toasted with a G&T!!

To all who will be celebrating tonight: have a great time.

    Burns...

I've already been to one Burns Night on the 15th (our local St. Andrew's Society), and I am off to two more; one on February 5 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and then a "stag" Burns Night in St. Louis on the 12th! I was the Chairman of our Supper here in Springfield, I may be giving the Immortal Memory speeech in Fort Smith, and I am Addressing the Haggis in St. Louis -- whew! I get tired just thinking about all of that as I write this message.

On this 25th of January, the birthday of the Ayrshire ploughman-poet, let me just wish all my fellow Burnsians greetings and a line frae the Bard himself:

Then let us pray that come it may,
(As come it will for a' that,)
That Sense and Worth , o'er a' the earth,
Shall bear the gree , an' a' that.
For a' that, an' a' that,
It's coming yet for a' that,
That Man to Man, the world o'er,
Shall brothers be for a' that.

    Cheers,

    Todd

I won't be doing much this evening as both my children are ill.

However on Friday I'll be going to the Cally's Burns Nicht in Oslo.

Nice website, I wish our Cally Soc. had a decent web site too!

Hope the evening goes well for you!
