    Snap repair kit?

I was reading a post the other day and someone said something about repairing their Utilikilt snaps with a repair kit they have. I would like to know where I could get one of these kits.
    Thanks, Johnny C.

I've gotten them at WalMart, but it's a hit or miss thing. Tandy Leather has them and they've been my main source.

Got mine at Tandy. Works great with a hammer. Hate to use it. Love it when I need it.

Uncle Otto will send you the snaps if you ask.

The Tandy kit also handles AmeriKilt size snaps, but haven't needed it for my AKs yet.

    You lucky then...

Not everyone there has the "spark" Otto does...he's fun...

Others are okay...Otto's just Otto. Check the UK Newsletter archives for pics of the man having fun.

OK, I have seen these snap setters and it's not what I thought it would be but I think I see how they work.
Those of you who have these setters, could you tell me which one you have?
I need mine for my Utilikilt snaps and I don't know what size they are. 5/16'', 3/8'' ???
    Thanks very much.

The kit I have was from Tandy Leather. Its the Craftool USA Deluxe All Snap & Rapid Rivet Setter. Works for size 20 snaps (AKs) and size 24 snaps (UKs). Comes with instructions, a flat thing they call the anvil with recesses for the various snap parts, and five different tools to whack with a hammer to set the snap parts together. Heavy thing. Works well. even repaired a snap on the apron of my denim UK...went through seven layers of denim. Cost was about $15 USD.

I've got the same one from Tandy and I'll recommend it as well.
