    German American Tartan Kilt Arrived!

On Saturday I received a call from Rocky letting me know that my kilt in the new German American Tartan was getting the final touches, and would I like to swing by and pick it up. I was not able to get there, so Rocky offered to get it shipped ASAP. When I got home from work I had a package waiting for me from USAKilts ... Thanks Rocky for making my day!

I took a few quick pictures to share this fantastic tartan and excellent quality kilt with you all. This is a USAK 5 yard kilt (really six yards of material) in the wool 16 oz wool German American tartan pleated to the set. Rocky shared that this is only the second kilt in ever made in this tartan (so far), as he had only had enough made on the initial run for two kilts - I am sure that this will not be the last one they make!

I did a quick try on and I can tell you the fit is spot on, and the material is nice and heavy with a wonderful swing in the pleats. This is my first 100% Scottish woven wool kilt and I must say I am amazed at the difference between this and my PV semi-traditional.

Rocky, the workmanship is superb and the customer service was great as always - Thank you!!!

The tartan's a beauty! Great pictures - hope to see the "obligatory pleats shot" soon, too!

To heck with the pleat shot, let see it on! (BTW, I really like that tartan.

Great looking Tartan, but some pics of the kilt being worn would be nice.

    Absolutely brilliant!
I will be so proud when mine arrives...though I may get the "German Heritage Tartan" instead...my ancestors on my Grandmothers side were from Hanover, Germany. The 16 oz. is fantastic, but did you find that the 5 (or 6) yard fabric had enough pleats to create that great swing?

    Prost!

That pleating is superb. I can hardly tell it's not the apron.

I love that I had to look hard to tell if it was a shot of the pleats or of the apron.

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad the kilt fit so well and that you FINALLY have a nice wool kilt and can compare it to your others (PV USAK and SWK).

Thanks to you and others for the kind words about the pleat work and for the compliments on the tartan design itself. I do the best I can!
