i know this is an old post, but after reading Panache's review of his Empire Canvas shirt, I thought I'd bump this up so folks can compare and contrast.

Great looking shirt, but it is way too dressy for the UK workman. That kind of shirt should be worn only with a dressier kilt and definitely not with boots. I think you need a new kilt to go with that shirt.

That is a fantastic looking shirt. Can't wait until that section of the FK site is running and rarin' t' go.

Cloves, how did you find a pic of the shirt to inspire you? or did you just become interested from a description? either way, it worked out well for you.

I think it should go pretty good with my xmarks tartan....when I eventually get that made into a kilt. In the meantime it looks pretty good with my Starkilt too.

    Perldog,
I had seen similar colored shirts in high end mens department stores, and even Lands End has their version of it. When the opportunity arose for a custom shirt ie: colors I wanted in a kilt length with FK emboridery, I jumped at the chance. I don't wear it as much as I'd like as it's almost too classy for me. Well worth the money and I know I'll buy another eventually.

Indeed, a great looking shirt, Cloves!!
I don't know about you, but whenever anyone tells me that a particular garment makes me look as though I've lost weight, I wish I had six more of that particular item...one for every day of the week!
