Shop Foreman for VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) in San Jose, California.
We repair the busses for daily operation. We have 440 busses, 3 yards with repair shops, 1 overhaul and repair shop and 1 body shop. I have been working for VTA for 34 years, started as a mechanic then lead mechanic and know a shop foreman.

Ahhhhh...the magicians that the public never gets to see! I drove a city transit bus in Calgary AB for 3 years before moving east. As a driver (and all-around gearhead) I loved walking through the shops so I could see how things were being done in the repair bays.

The variation of occupations is most amazing. For myself, I have found it necessary to change my venue more then once. For a number of years I have been a Radiology Engineer. I maintain and repair MRIs, CTs, and the like. Before that I was a Journeyman Mechanic on British and German autos.

I have been an aircraft mechanic for Delta Airlines for the last 20 years, and a rock climbing, rapelling and ropes course director Boy Scouts for the last 12 years.

CAD designer...helping a company design their heavy construction equipment at the moment, but got my start designing Viking kitchen appliances.

Well...have to update this...the company I was working on-site at shut down their engineering department, so I'm laid-off.

Good thing is, I've been wearing a kilt every day since then..
