    Living in Edmonton

A wee query for some Edmonton residents (or ex-residents)..

SWMBO and I are considering moving to Edmonton, Alberta for at least a year. We are both mental health nurse specialists and have seen an advert looking for nurses in Edmonton.
Both fairly rural born and bred, so ideally would be looking for some place fairly quiet to raise a family. Ideally have some nice twisty roads tae thrash my Kawasaki around
(but with access to a decent rock / metal pub would be cool too )

    Nice place to live?,

    Slainte

Great place to live, but there only a couple real safe spots I would move my family to. Great for legal crotch rocket riding (cuz zipping in and out makes all of us look like jerks), and the nurses in Edmonton are well taken care of. Thats kind of a media proven fact.

    Cheers

Come to Ontario instead, it's the real Canada. We have the twisty roads and rock clubs, Alberta? Prairies, Man. Flat as a board until you smack into an inconviently placed mountain. Rock music in Alberta consists of cowboy boots & hats, dogs and pickup trucks. Oh and the winters (August to May) are like 40 below which incidentally are the same in celsius and farenheit.

Okay actually I've never been to Alberta but I flew over it once on the way to Vancouver. there is a boom going on in Alberta right now, they have to import labour as the oil fields are taking all the local talant. House prices and the cost of living are sky-rocketing. Exciting times, that's why I'll stay in boring Ontario where the house prices and the cost of living are sky-rocketing.

Thanks for the responses folks, I think the crotch rocket may be on sale soon and looking for a dual sport (KTM or Husky)

    Thanks again
