    Alternative and Modern Sporrans

As part of my rehab, I'm walking around the neighborhood a lot, which lends itself to taking breaks to see what the local vendors have.

I found a couple of alternative lines of sporrans in a couple of stores, which can be purchased directly from the companies, "Tokyo Bay" and, "The Property Of".

The Tokyo Bay Sacchetto line consists of several sizes of hip bags meant for men and women, but which lend themselves to be alternative sporrans. The medium size is 6"w x 7.75"h, the smaller size would work for a woman's or boy's sporran, but not a man's. Prices run from $43 to $90. The waist strap is removable.

These don't have a lot of pockets or customization, but then, neither do most sporrans. Each one comes with its own adjustable waist strap, but also has sewn loops in back to accommodate a sporran strap or regular belt.

For instance, here is a camo hip bag.

This is a leather version in tan.

Finally, this one is in black leather.

There are other colors, styles and options on the website: Tokyo Bay

I also found another brand that looks more modern, is wider, but less deep. It is "The Property Of". You can't purchase from the website, so I inquired from their site to ask what stores in San Francisco carry the hip bags. I'll update the post when I get a response.

http://thepropertyof.com/ Choose Small Items to see the hip bags. Note that the waist strap is not removable on this line, but it is adjustable.

I think that both companies offer bags that are just big enough, but not too big. These will not store as much as a SWK Nightstalker sporran, but should accommodate the necessities as well or a bit better than a normal sporran.

I hope that this provides some new options for everyone.
