    Last Night of SCD Class

Well thats the Scottish Country Dance class finished till mid October. As it was the last night I took the camera along this evening.

    Five piece band.

Piper Malcolm Bruce explains the workings of the bagpipes to an enthusiastic youngster.

I sat out one of the couples dances to take some pics

No kilt shots tonight as I was the only one in a kilt. Ann came along to watch and I asked her to take a few pics during the set dances but she said we moved too fast for her to get any pics of my weathered MacKenzie.

We continued here in California till June. Afterwards our class meets unofficially (without a teacher) through the Summer.

Hope it was a fun dance

    Cheers

Cool pix. I'd love to take that up some day. There is a group here in Memphis that gets together once a week.

It is really fun, good exercise, and the people are among the nicest you could ever hope to meet. Go for it!

    Cheers

Dirk, you should give it a try! Christopher and I are hoping to check out a group in the near future, once he's finished with a few things. I can't wait

    Cynthia,

It seems to me that most official classes end for the summer break (but SCD demonstrations are often at Highland Games). Make contact with your local group ASAP and find out when their beginner classes start (normally early Fall). It makes a big difference in getting into it when they are taking a lot of time working on the basic steps.

FYI: I am moving this thread to our new "Celtic Dancers" forum.

    Cheers
