Celtic Bands...well, kinda....
I wanted to see if anyone could suggest some good bands from Ireland or Scotland. I have listened to a good number of celtic bands, in style, and am getting kinda tired of them. No offence, it's good music, just all very similiar. Murphys, Flogging Molly, and the like. I've tried some other stuff too and it was all too cliche for me.
I've gotten into The Frames alot lately and really enjoy them. Also Interference Ireland, and Damien Dempsey.
Anyway, just curious if anyone might know of other bands from over there.

Listen to streaming Celtic Radio and you'll hear great variety and the latest releases. There is a real-time playlist so you always know who you're listening to, and a "buy it now" feature if you want to purchase the CD direct from them.
www.live365.com There are several stations available. I like Highlander Radio, but your tastes might be better served at Celtic Rock Radio.

You might try Albannach. More of a hard rock style. Also, for more of a folk music/easy listening try Oceans Apart. Try going to the Colorado Irish Festival in Denver on July 11-13, there will be a couple dozen different performers there. The Highland Games at Estes Park will have several also, including Albannach and Brother.
