    Question Kilt Kamp 2009

I would like to try to set aside some vacation time (and some cash) to attend next year. How soon can we expect some information about location and dates, tentative though it might be? Thanks!

Barb and I spoke at this years Kamp about ideas for 2009. We were thinking of heading back to the West Coast.

As you remember the first Kilt Kamp was sponsored by me at Freedom Kilts here in Victoria.
Then on the East Coast at the Scottish Tartans Museum.

If we alternate East and West it gives everyone equal chances to make a Kamp.

One idea that was tossed out was having the next Kamp in Panache's living room. Don't tell him though because we want it to be a surprise.

I think Austin, Texas would be the ideal location for next year. Aspiring kiltmakers from either coast would have to travel only half as far!

I think Kansas City would be optimum, it is the middle of the USA!

But we have many kilties from all over North America, not just USA.

    How about HERE

Ummm. North Dakota is north of which border? I'm married to a Canadian and trust me, the northern borders of the US are not the end of the world.

North Dakota is not even north of THAT border.

(edit: okay okay; NORTH of North Dakota you have the Manitoba Prairies and it's pretty barren but you can still find a pub if you look hard enough. )

Let me explain: there is a lot of sparsely populated land in the north of north america. Most of the kilties are in the south of Cananda, not all, but most.

I guess the center of population would be best. Any guesses where that is?

My guess would be a little further to the north of the middle of the USA.
