Thumbs up What's better than getting a new kilt?

Getting a new SWK Night Stalker on Thursday and then getting your first set of bagpipes on Saturday.

    K. Pettigrew pipes with a D. Naill chanter. Major, major, monumental deal on eBay.

I'm just a little bit excited...
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

The only thing I envy more than your new set of pipes, is your ability to learn to play them

Very nice! I'm looking forward (down the road) when I'll be ready to purchase a set.

Just gotta get through the initial practice chanter steps... I'll get there...

The secret trick to learning bagpipes is... practice practice practice.

...Ok, that was the secret, so don't tell anybody.

I'll try and keep it quiet...

Thankfully I understand the value of practice (having been a guitar player for over 20 years, etc) so that part doesn't bother me in the slightest.

My instructor claims I'm doing very well, which is encouraging, so I'm just taking things day-by-day; I'm certainly not in a rush. I want to do this right.

    Gee, too bad.

Sorry to be the messenger of bad tidings, but I'm afraid those pipes don't look like REAL Pettigrews.

Best send them to me for proper disposal!

Just kidding. Good for you! Welcome to the wonderful world of piping.

Don't get discouraged by the initial plateau. You will have to learn to coordinate your blowing with your playing, which means two different rhythms going on at once. It isn't easy. But it gets a whole lot easier in a couple of weeks.

What kind of bag is on them? I play a leather bag, but I like to ask about setup on other folks' pipes. I can see in the picture what drone reeds you have.
