    Battlefield Band

Has anyone been to see this group?
    http://www.battlefieldband.co.uk

they will be preforming here in Port Angeles next Friday(nov 21)
they bill themselves as playing Scottish contemporary music 200 years in the making

I was wondering if they are worth seeing

I've saw them about a year ago and enjoyed the program. I've been listening to their albums for years but never had the opportunity to see them until then. They will be returning to the DC area in the spring and I'm planning to see them again. I prefer their earlier music to the more current, but I still like their music and recommend seeing them.

    Thank you
I guess I'll get a ticket and go kilted

They are an excellent group. I have had the opportunity to attend one of their concerts. The piper is great. Originally from California, he now resides in Scotland

I saw them in concert here a year ago. They are entirely OK live. Their music is quite tight and well-rehearsed, but their showmanship is only so so. I suspect they are much better studio musicians.

Any band can have turnover. I saw Battlefield Band here in Fairbanks several years ago (good gracious, it must have been 7 years, now that I think on it!) and was very pleased. The lead singer told the story behind his song Beaches of St. Valery and it has been one of my favorite tear-jerkers ever since. The whistle player had a tune he named 100 Rolls after an amusing story of being back home and doing some shopping for a friend's mother, where he assumed she must be giving a party when she wanted 100 rolls. She saw all the bread and asked "where are my loo rolls?"

They were not much for stage flash, but I really enjoyed seeing that they are real people, with real lives and real personalities.

If the tickets are not outrageous, I'd say go ahead and see them.

I too have seen them but it was several years ago at MusikFest, here in Bethlehem, PA. They played behind the Old Sun Inn on Main Street.
