Are you complete without a Sgian Dubh?

No, I still don't have one. I have a couple of blades and other materiels that might be ok for a DIY dubh.

I think I have a little better idea what would go with which and so on... I was just joking about the pocket square...

When I wear my kilt to school on Fridays, obviously I do not carry my sgian dubh. I do wear one for all other occasions. I especially carry one when I walk my Siberian, Indy, back behind the house on BLM land. I've seen signs left by mountain lions and the coyotes out here aren't that small either. I'd hate to surprize one while out hiking in the hills.

With those kinds of critters lurking about, I'd go out with a little more than a sgian dhub - more like a dirk at the very least.

For mountain lions I think something that went bang might be in order. Coyotes are mostly scared of humans worse than humans are of them. If not something is wrong with the coyote.

But a sgian dubh beats empty hand for either of those.

Coyotes around here live on golf courses, wander around town, eat rabbits, and have no fear of humans.
