    Box pleat kilt instructions

OK, lads and lassies! Matt Newsome and I have written a doc on how to make a traditional box pleated kilt. The instructions are too long and have too many illustrations to post as a tutorial here on XMarks, so we've made the instructions available as a free pdf download that can be viewed using Acrobat Reader. You can download the files from http://people.hamilton.edu/documents...0ver%201.1.pdf

***Please note that these instructions are supplementary to the book The Art of Kiltmaking. For instructions that are the same for box pleated and knife pleated kilts, you will need instructions that are in The Art of Kiltmaking. The box pleat pdf works equally well with the first and second printings. If you do not have a copy of The Art of Kiltmaking, you can order one at http://www.celticdragonpress.com

Thank you both for the work that you put into this worthwhile project. Now if the Moderators will make this topic a sticky. . .

I asked McMurdo, and he's taking a vote on it.

Thanks for the hard work! In 2009 I will make at least one kilt, and maybe (if I like the process) I'll make one with box pleats...
