    1820-mid 1820s Dress Attire- NWC - Puffer

This weekend, I attended a a BP/ML Trade show in Monroe WA. ( The largest in the PNW) I chose to attire myself ( 1st day (SAT) as an Upper level Northwest Co. Employee ( NWC ) @ Spokane House. (mid 1820s) This is my "interpretation" of a Kilted Gentleman" attending Sunday Dinner with the Factor.( note I am a "historian" in the area of the NWC & HBCin the PNW)
    1. Coatee Jacket = Fine wool, Dark Green with Black Trim
    2. Vest = Black wool
    3. Neck Cloth = White silk, tied in a "Coachman's Waterfall"
    4. Kilt = early 1800s " high waisted box pleat" ("Black Douglas Tartan")
    5. Buckle = Plain Silver
    6. Sporran = Horse Hair
    7. Hose = WHITE finely woven cotton ( this was more $$ than silk) & White was a sign that you had the $$ to have a servant to keep it clean & white. It was also worn for "dress"
    8. Shoes = "Gentleman's Buckled" ( more "pointed than "common") with a "fancy" silver buckle
    9. Garters = Black silk tied in a bow.
