    new plastic chanter reed

looks promising! I bought one of those clann rye reeds....absolute shyte!

    BUT these look pretty good!
roughly 25 USD after conversion might be worth it.

    what say you?

Sounds pretty good to my ear. I've been sorta following these and this is the first demo of them I have heard.

They could be mighty convenient at wedding & funeral gigs.

I should've stressed this reed could be invaluable at performances where you can get tuned & situated prior to showtime....

    ...but not once they've begun.

for me pub gigs consist of going to a place, quick tune up by the car and go in....no chance to tune up while inside.....so we're of the same mind

It sounds good enough, but for myself, I dunno. It took me a while to get used to plastic drone reeds (and I can't think to use anything else).

It's not bad, but it's not great. Definitely would not go into competition with that. Probably fine for gigs. You can hear the difference. I bet you can hear the difference a whole lot in person.

It's got a straight-forward tone, but not a lot in the way overtone. This may be a matter of the compression on the file from uploading to YouTube, or not.

It also has a slightly tinnie ring especially on the upper hand.

    Not a very full sound.

Sure as hell ain't got the tone of a ross. A guy in our band just got one. It's a really weak dull sound. and pretty sharp on the top hand as well. He's only played around with it at band practice the one night (this monday) but no one could get it to flatten off.
