    New Eton style jacket

Hey, gang. I purchased this jacket (via Buckskin's coatery) with the hopes of turning it into a mess jacket.

Here it is dressed up with what I have around the house (regular shirt and tie versus tuxedo). I felt like if I had to go out right this minute, and be dressed nicely, I could fudge it enough...until I get everything as it should be.

We don't have a fireplace, so I used the next best thing...

That looks more like what I have heard called a Spencer Waistcoat, but I'm not sure. You can get square pewter buttons here pretty cheaply.

You can also braid some nylon shoelaces to make shoulder epaulets if you want.

    Looks really sharp.

The jacket looks grand. It's a good Scot that can thrift his way into looking like Royalty. ith:

Here are a couple more I thought you would like that are from the 1800's

You could add cuffs and you could add epaulettes but, a change of buttons is all you really need to do. No one will ever question it. It is a good outfit and you look very smart.

It's a grand look indeed. The addition of the squared silver buttons would be a plus! Just my opinion!

Looking good Seth! I use the same style jacket, get a 3 button vest, throw on some shiney buttons, and you are ready to rock!
