    Hamish!

    Hi Friends!

I just today had a talk with Hamish over the phone (in spite I live in Sweden and he in te UK), I am glad to tell that he is doing good even in this interesting weather that we face in Europe now. He is still not really well but the climate doesn´t make it worse.
As a single myself I always get worried when it gets as now, Gothenburg this night -20 and the south coast of the UK -15 centigrades how my "brethren" are doing.

    Greetings

    Ingemar

Hi Ingemar! I gritted my teeth when you described the respective temperatures in Sweden and England. I was in the United States Air Force stationed in southwestern England near Newbury from 1984-1986. Cold, damp winters, but very beautiful part of the world. I know my fellow X-Markers and I are appreciative of our warmer temp's here in Florida!

    Stay Warm!!

I have given up counting how many days we have been snowed in, for the UK plunging temperatures are causing havoc and we in the highlands are expecting -20 tonight . We have plenty of food, oil, coal, whisky, port, gin, cartridges and amazingly the electric is still with us as is the telephone. Weather permitting we might be able to resupply(GET OUT!) this weekend. I am sorry to hear Hamish is not too well, nothing serious I hope, and that he is wrapped up and in the warm. All the very best Hamish!

    Hi Ingemar,

Thank you for the info; my thoughts and prayers are with Hamish.

Winter here, as well, 8'' of snow and single digit temps in the forecast for tonight.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

Looks like we may need to airlift a cargo hold of snow shovels in your general direction.

Be careful and be prepared - this big chill is super dangerous!

What he said...especially if your pipes freeze and burst; you won't find out until they thaw enough for the water to start flowing again...don't ask me how I know this...

I do hope that the gentleman from Storrington is doing all right. I assume that there must be somebody who can check in with him and fetch him any necessaries from the store.

Hamish, stay warm, and our thoughts are with you.

(Should I mention now that I was out on my motorcycle today with only a light jacket on? Southern California... I'll take the earthquakes).
