New Stuff!
New Kidder sporran, new kilt pin, new hand knitted kilt hose, thrifted coat that I think works pretty well with the kilt.
Hopefully soon I'll add a belt and buckle, a charcoal day jacket, and a tie knitted from the same yarn I used to make my garter ties. The look's starting to come together, I think!
Like I did last time, I'm going to post a behind-the-scenes view of the kilt hose in the DIY section.

Yup, the look is starting to come together!
I had to laugh at the picture with the jacket buttoned, though. The bulge of the sporran underneath certainly looks ominous and might scare people if they don't know it's a sporran under there!

The hose absolutely ROCK! Total jones there! I prefer a bit more turn-over myself, but those are most excellent. Have to agree with the coat comment though, Mate.

I'd noticed that myself! I don't think the coat will get buttoned unless the weather really turns sour.

I prefer more turn-over as well, but I didn't want the cuff to cover up the design in the calf increase. I made up the pattern myself and this was the prototype, so I know next time to give myself a little more room.

If you're going to button the coat, you really need a huge, hairy, buffalo skin sporran to show off when you unbutton it .
You know what, in your other thread about the hose, I said I'd personally prefer more turnover, but the smaller turnover with the off-white wool somehow gives it a more formal look than what I was thinking of. Not really sure how to explain it...perhaps sort of like the difference between buckles and regular wingtips...?

Funny, I sort of think the same thing. Like I said, I have a lot of mixed feelings about this pair.

Speaking of narrow turnovers, check out this post: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...tml#post865014 Looks like the short cuff in a dressy setting isn't a new idea.
