Yesterday, Saturday the 7th of January, my wife and I met with Sammac and his wife at a Irish Pub in downtown Grand Rapids, MI for lunch.

Sam had been trying to organize a Kilt night for Southwest Michigan for a few weeks, but as it turned out, only the four of us could make it.

From Left to right, myself (A_Hay!), my wife, Sam's wife (the wives share the same first name), and Sammac.

We had not met before as my wife and I only came to SW Michigan last October. But we had a great time getting to know one another and we look forward to seeing each other at events around the State of Michigan. First up is the Grand Rapids Scottish Society Burns Night Supper on 28 January.

Once again, the X Marks the Scot forum and the shared interest in kilts and other things Scottish provided common ground for good fellowship, friendly talk and good food.

A very enjoyable afternoon.
