Thank you so much for that link. The interview is just great. From even that short exchange, I can see what you mean about his being a great and warm story teller. I would like to meet the worthy gentleman some day, but travel to a clan event is a little complicated for me just now...
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Quite right Jock, and Cluny is a retired High Court Judge (London), so naturally he speaks Her Majesty the Queen's English.

    Hiya mate,

Cluny and his lady friend, Lady Hilary Burnham, will be in Baddeck, Nova Scotia in October for the joint Clan Macpherson Association AGM between Canada and the U.S. Branch-a wee bit closer than Scotland, but not by much! Try to make it cousin!

    Yours aye,

Hey! I was there too! I've got pictures around here somewhere.

The MacPherson museum is outstanding and Cluny is quite a character.
I like him. He was very friendly and welcoming as was everyone else I talked to.

I was very impressed with all those people who ran up that mountain and back down. I'd still be crawling up. lol

Wonderful! The Clan Macpherson House and Museum in Newtonmore is superb isn't it? Very top notch. Cluny is an exceptional Chief and a extraordinary man - he is extremely approachable and easy to speak to. The people running up Creag Dhubh, in the heart of Clan Macpherson country, is one of the many highlights of the Newtonmore Highland Games every August.

    Cheers!
