As to the fork, I will post another picture of my fork "Tha'Bomination" as food for thought. Possibly later today.
Things you may find helpful: Hockey stick tape, old skool electrical black friction tape, WD-40 to make the tines slickery. You'll probably want to personalize your fork so be thinking about a color scheme and such.
