    Campbell/ Macdonald

I have lines of descent to both clans and their gallowglass troops and the blood must run true, I've been fighting myself for a long time.

I have Campbell, McDonald, and McCrory lines, not to mention Graham, Ogilvy, and Stewart. I have decided to call a truce.

Thanks for the 'Glencoe' clips, Terry. I always understood that the Campbells were unfairly saddled with too much responsibility for The Massacre, but never before have I actually felt sympathy for Bredalbane and even poor pathetic Captain Robert Campbell. This recounting makes me wonder how different things could have been for the latter and indeed all of us had he the strength of character that Bredalbane had and disobeyed the treasonous orders he was delivered.

If you read Baynes and Laffin's account of Glencoe in their book "Soldiers of Scotland", you'll feel even more sympathy for two of Campbell's officers who were cashiered for refusing to carry out the orders.
