I have only just come across this thread, I'm afraid, but I echo, several times over, all the comments expressed here regarding Barb, Dave and Carolyn's extreme kindness and generosity in the production of this truly fantastic book. Mike is quite correct, I am almost as proud of the book as I am of the kilt itself but I have to be careful at this point as the kilt is very, very special indeed (and the book would not exist were it not for the kilt!). Both are, of course, now treasured possessions and here is a photo showing them together:

One great regret is that, at the moment, I am unable to get out-and-about sufficiently to show the world just how wonderful my new tartan and the special kilt actually are - straying far from home base is just not an option, sadly. However, no visitor to Bicknell Grange is permitted to leave before being shown both the kilt and the book ..... they are not allowed to touch either, of course, but are encouraged to peer intently!! The verbal comments are always, without exception, positively glowing (and rightly so!)

Heartfelt thanks to you Barb, and to Rocky, Steve and Robert for their kind if embarrassing words the book contains.

    Take care,
    Ham.

It's great to see your smiling face, Hamish, and congratulations again on such a lovely tartan and kilt. The book documenting the process is certainly the royal icing on a regal cake!

Now to get you out-and-about and feeling 100%!

    Agreed...

I actually got to see Barb's copy of this book today in person...and she let me actually touch it Hamish!!! LOL. It's a very neat book. She has another, thicker one displayed with it in her office of her daughter's wedding. Both are great. Dave is an amazing photographer. I need to get a live in photographer to help me document my life I think!!

    I am very frustrated !

I just couldn't understand how to order it...

How insignificant can one be sometimes...

If someone could help me on this one... step by step. Like if you were explaining a 4 year old... thank you.

    Hi Robert,

Not sure what the question is that you're asking. Can you clarify?

Well... I might as well be ridiculous all the way, so here goes :

1- Is this a book one can order, or is it one of a kind ?
2- If it is possible to order one … I just couldn't figure out how to do it.

    Robert

Oh - sorry. I understand what you mean now. I actually have to ask Hamish about this - whether he would like to allow people to have a copy. I haven't had time to ask him, but of course we'll respect his wishes.

My comments about ordering a book are related to what happens when someone designs a book in iPhoto - you just click "Buy Book" when you're doing making it, and a pdf goes off to Apple, and they make a book from it. If Hamish is OK with other people having a copy, I'd need to do the ordering out of iPhoto because these books are one-off things.

    Sorry that was confusing!
